Limit and Alarm Controllers
Limit controllers are added to thermal applications to monitor an over-temperature condition as a safety precaution. Limit controllers provide a safety assurance to guard against high temperature runaway conditions resulting from a shorted input sensor or an output device that fails in a closed position.
Watlow limit controllers provide agency approved performance in safety limit applications. All are available with industry standard I/O options. Watlow limit/alarm controllers are designed and manufactured to withstand harsh industrial environments.
The multi-loop limits and alarms are a low-cost solution for multi-channel, redundant temperature monitoring. These limits and alarms can continuously monitor thermocouples, RTDs or thermal switches, making them ideal for multi-zone applications.

Watlow Series LV
Series
LV microprocessor-based limit controllers provide an economical solution
for applications requiring temperature limit controls. Limits are available
in a variety of packaging and interface options.
LV controllers incorporate a microprocessor design platform for improved performance, repeatability and accuracy over analog controllers. The operator interface allows for viewing and selecting the set point.

Series

in a variety of packaging and interface options.
Series LF controllers incorporate a microprocessor design platform for improved performance, repeatability and accuracy over analog controllers. The operator interface allows for viewing and selecting the set point.
The fixed Series LF limit offers fixed set points. Operating set point temperature values are customer definable in the product configuration part number.

The
user-friendly Series 97 controller can be set up to display safety and
limit messages created by the end user to meet the exact application need.
The Series 97 limit controller is added to thermal applications to limit
over-temperature conditions. It provides safety assurance against instances
where a high temperature runaway condition could occur from a shorted
input sensor or an output device that could fail in a closed position.
The Series 97 is recommended for any application where thermal runaway could result in large product scrap costs, affect operator safety, cause damage to equipment or create a fire hazard.

Watlow Series TLM-8
The
TLM-8 features FM approval as a temperature limit switch. Choose individual
temperature limits for each channel from the standard list or consult
the factory for other limits.
The TLM-8 is compact and easy to install on a panel or a DIN rail. No cutout is required, reducing installation and fabrication costs. Troubleshooting is simplified through a self-test diagnostics input, which simulates the alarm state.
